There is an expression that goes, "If you build a better mouse trap, people will beat a path to your door". Well, it just does not happen that way. As much as we know about flying and technology, we have sold very few systems. We clearly do not know enough about marketing.

Consequently, we have put a hold on further shipments. Since we had promised continuing updates, a buyback offer was extended to our clientele. Fortunately, no one took us up on the offer.

The exercise has not been a total loss. Since our debut at Oshkosh in 2003, we have submitted 562 data base discrepancy reports to the FAA. To date, 478 of these discrepancies have been corrected.

Please, do visit us from time to time to see if anything has changed. We would love to hear from you.

VIP will be sold as either a Complete System or A La Carte. Even during the development phase, we found that each user has slightly different needs. The technology is advancing by leaps and bounds. The portion of VIP that has remained stable during this process is the software and the switch configuration.

Our product consists of the VIP Control Panel and the VIP software to run it. To run, it requires:

Garmin GPS16 WAAS system

PC with an RS-232 port, a USB port, and running Windows98 SE, Windows 2000, or Windows XP

In fact, the first unit was flown using an IBM Thinkpad, GPS16, and the control panel. However, being able to position the Display and Control Panel is important to its use.

As a courtesy to our customers, we have become resellers for the components needed to make up a complete system. Prices have been set for these components in order to cover our costs. However, you may be able to find some of the items from other vendors at a lower price due to their high sales volume. We will not be offended if you chose to purchase some components elsewhere either to save cost, to use something you already have, or to meet some special need for your application.
